Steps To Submit a Remote Deposit:

  1. Endorse your check as follows:
    • Front: Remote Deposit Only to Santa Fe FCU, Account #, on [Current Days Date]
    • Back: Remote Deposit Only to Santa Fe FCU, Account #, on [Current Days Date]
  2. Login to SFFCU Mobile App; Click on Remote Deposit
  3. Select a Deposit Account
  4. Enter dollar amount show on Original Check image
  5. Follow Prompt: Take a picture of the FRONT of the check.
  6. Follow Prompt: Take a picture of the BACK of the check.
  7. Click Submit

Note: Deposits received & approved before 2:00 P.M. CST on Monday through Friday will be considered deposited on that day. Deposits received after 2:00 P.M. CST on Monday through Friday at any time will be reviewed the following Business Day.

Who's Eligible To Use the Remote Deposit Service?

Every member of Santa Fe Federal Credit Union is eligible to use remote deposit service.

  • You must be enrolled in Online Banking
  • You must submit the check from within our Mobile App
  • You must have one or more eligible Deposit Accounts with us for at least 30 days

Remote Deposit Capture FAQs

Types of Checks we do NOT allow

  • Checks payable to any person or entity other than you
  • Checks payable to a business; remote deposit capture is for deposits made into personal accounts
  • Checks containing any alteration of which you know or should have known or believe to be fraudulent or not authorized by the owner of the account on which the check is drawn
  • Money Orders
  • Savings Bonds
  • Any Checks that are not in original form with a signature, such as substitute checks or remotely created checks
  • Checks that are stale dated, dated more than six (6) months prior to the date of deposit
  • Checks that are postdated, display a future date
  • Insurance checks
  • Checks made out incompletely or incorrectly
  • Non-negotiable Items
  • Non-legible Checks
  • Cash or Coins
  • Checks written off an account at a financial institution located outside the United States
  • Checks not payable in United States currency
  • Checks that are otherwise not acceptable under the terms of your Account Agreement

Tips for Remote Deposit

  • Endorse your check as follows:
    • Front: Remote Deposit Only to Santa Fe FCU, Account #, on [Current Days Date]
    • Back: Remote Deposit Only to Santa Fe FCU, Account #, on [Current Days Date]
  • Deposits are processed Monday through Friday during normal business hours
  • Deposits submitted on nights and weekends will be reviewed the following business day
  • Keep the check until 20 (twenty) days after Deposit submission
  • Pictures are best taken in a well-lit area on a flat surface
  • Make sure the check amount you enter matches the amount on the check
  • Keep hands and fingers away from the camera lens
  • Keep checks from getting creased or torn (deposit errors can result when checks are unreadable)

What is Remote Deposit Capture service?

Remote Deposit Capture lets you submit photos of the front and back of your endorsed checks to your checking, or savings Deposit Accounts with the Credit Union by using your eligible camera on your Mobile Device to capture images of Original Checks and transmit digitally.

Who’s eligible to use the Remote Deposit service?

Every member of Santa Fe Federal Credit Union is eligible for remote deposit service. With that said:

  1. You must be enrolled in Online Banking, and
  2. Have one or more eligible Deposit Accounts with us for at least 30 days to deposit negotiable items to your account OR make loan payments here at SANTA FE FCU.

How do I enroll to use Remote Deposit Capture service?

In order to use Remote Deposit Capture, you must:

  1. Have an eligible Mobile Device, and
  2. Enroll in Santa Fe FCU Online Banking Service first.

When will my Remote Deposit be available?

You may access the service anytime 7 days a week. Remote Deposits confirmed as received & approved before 2:00 P.M. CST on Monday through Friday (except state and/or federal holidays) will be considered deposited on that day. Remote Deposits confirmed as received after 2:00 P.M. CST on Monday through Friday (except state and/or federal holidays) at any time will be considered reviewed on the next Business Day. Funds from Remote Deposits will generally be available to you on the first Business Day from the date we provide you Provisional Credit for the Mobile Deposit. Additional funds availability restrictions may apply. Santa Fe FCU may make such funds available sooner based on such factors as credit worthiness, the length and extent of your relationship with us, transaction and experience information, and such other factors as we deem relevant.

Is there a limit on how much money I can deposit using the Santa Fe FCU Mobile App?

Santa Fe FCU may establish daily and/or monthly limits on the dollar amount and/or number of items or deposits at any time at our discretion.

How will I know if there’s a problem with my remote deposit after I submit it?

When a remote deposit is not approved, we will notify you via Online Banking secure messaging. This message will contain the check submission date and the reason the check was rejected. You may also review the remote deposit history from within the Santa Fe FCU Mobile App.

What should I do with my paper check after using Remote Deposit Capture?

After you receive confirmation that we have received an image, you must securely store the Original Check for Twenty days (20) after transmission to Santa Fe FCU and make the Original Check accessible to Santa Fe FCU at our request. Promptly after such period expires, you must destroy the Original Check by first marking it “VOID” and then destroying it by cross-cut shredding or another commercially acceptable means of destruction. After destruction of an Original Check, the image will be the Sole Evidence of the Original Check.

Are there fees for using Remote Deposit Capture?

At the present time, Remote Deposit Capture is a free service through Santa Fe FCU. You are also responsible for telephone/mobile and Internet service fees you incur in connection with your use of Remote Deposit Capture Service.
